Based on a true story and set in 1950s Spain, Amantes tells the story of Paco, a young man who finds himself in Madrid in search of a job after leaving the army.
His plans to return to his home town and marry his girlfriend are threatened when he begins a torrid affair with his alluring older landlady. Seduced and obsessed, Paco is left to make an inescapable decision.
