After fleeing Europe for Uruguay during World War II, Jacob Kaplan has built himself a quiet life. But now, at 76 and in the throes of an existential crisis, he finds himself in the middle of one last unexpected adventure: to expose a mysterious old German as an escaped Nazi in hiding. To help him on his mission, Kaplan recruits an ex-policeman, Wilson Contreras, and together they embark on a wildly quixotic journey.
With his second full length feature, the Uruguayan director Álvaro Brechner proves himself to be one of the most exciting voices in Latin American cinema today.

Reviews
“Kaplan gets its fair share of laughs, but it is ultimately a great success in utilising its dramatic element that adds a more rewarding three dimensional depth to its narrative.” (Leslie Felperin – The Hollywood Reporter)
